Keep the Dream Alive

January 31, 2010

While we can put a lot of thought and effort into bringing our dreams to life, there are always people who will try to tie us down and prevent it from coming to fruition.  This can be friends, family members, people who want what you are trying to achieve for themselves, and even your own internal gremlins.

While it is easy to give in, we need to continue to fight for our dreams.  The course of actions that you take to reach your dreams may not be a simple path and you could end up losing people in your life who you thought were your friends.  While we may have a dream that seems outrageous, and people may say it’s impossible, it is important for us to continue working to change our dream into a reality.  If we do not believe in our dream, nobody will.

A few weeks ago, I was watching The Astronaut Farmer on television and thought that this movie has a very good lesson and all humans, especially the younger generations should watch it.  It’s about a NASA astronaut who is forced to retire early in his career, but never gives up his dream to fly into space.  His first attempt at making a space shuttle fails and he lands in the hospital.  Although he was about to lose everything he had, including his family’s farm, he never gave up his dream and built a new space shuttle and made it into outer space.

It is essential, that despite all the obstacles that are put in our way, we much keep pushing forward and keep our dream alive.  While other people may not believe in the dream, they have no control over that dream.  It is up to each of us to keep this dream alive if we want it to turn it into a reality.

What are some of the dreams that you have?  What is stopping you from making it a reality?
